Attack on Clichés!
Production ideas.
I was originally thinking about a squeal to my animation Creature's Planet, however at the time I did not know what exactly to do for one. It would have been a claymation animation similar to the first one.
Another idea that I had is a claymation animation showing a Sci-fi movie where the main character points out all of the clichés. The movie would feature an alien attack and a character melting on screen.
The last idea I had was a paper animation that involved random events, similar to the ASDF movies. It would feature a character on fire, a small cute animal in a difficult situation and two farmers talking about their existential crisis.
I decided to use the Sci-Fi claymation about movie clichés because I found the idea more entertaining then the ASDF parody and had more of an idea of what to do for it than I did for the Creatures Planet sequel.

Setting and Story.
The basic premise of the animation is to show the flaws of old and low budget movies. The story shows an alien encounter and a characters realistic reaction to common clichés and movie mistakes.
The animation shows two individuals encounter a UFO. As the Alien gets out and demands to be "taken to their leader or killed" the Blue character is unimpressed for demanding just that, angering the alien and killing the red character. Still unimpressed by the Aliens move he shoots her and decides to leave. The Blue character however appears to be alive at the end of the movie due to "plot armour."

Frames per second.
The animation itself will be 24FPS. This will allow me to create the scenes that will help achieve the length of time on the brief, which is between one to two minutes.

Audience.
I'm planning for the audience to be fan of old movies that have lots of cliches or movie mistakes. I also feel that it would attract people who like Sci-Fi and comedy movies. |
Legal implications.
I don't think that this animation will have legal implications seeing that it is a parody both old movies and Sci-Fi movies. It is possible however that some people who have made those movies could become angry with the animation that shows their flaws. I also have two pieces of music called Enigmatic and Sci Fi from Bensound.com which has a FREE Creative Commons License. This allows me to use the music but only if I credit the website for it. |
